photo of the day

This is my favourite picture of the day. I just love it. It's Cate Blanchett but I really do wish it was me in the lovely photo:) I love riding a bike down the slope street when it gets faster on its own and I can just put my feet in the air and feel the wind in my hair and on my face....although it lasts barely a minute it is worth the slow long way back up.

It was taken by Annie Leibowitz, a huge inspiration of mine.
This is something she said about photography and it is exactly how I feel about it. I don't know I've never really cared about the camera. I still don't understand all of the settings and the theory but what I love about taking pictures is the view, the things I see and somehow need to capture.

“We were taught that the most important thing a young photographer can do  is learn how to see.  It wasn’t about the equipment we were using.  I don’t remember being taught any technique.   A camera was only a box that recorded an image.”
