Dead Poet

"I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life. To put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived."
I watched Dead Poet's Society after many years again. I only slightly remembered what it was about but was convinced it was the kind of film to touch me.
It had a particular meaning, watching it now, at the same age, facing the same situations and dillemas as the main characters. It didn't miss me, that as much as it was about the boys studying in a strict boarding school, it was about me. Just now and not for too while to last, I am already not a child but not an adult yet. We act and talk seriously, think about serious matters, wear suits and sign papers. People expect us to be responsible, to know and to go the right expected way. We are young and foolish. We are learning and exploring, failing and trying. We laugh about silly things, have energy in our veins yet often lazyness in our hands. We still have dreams, passion, great yet senseless ideas and visions. And we are at crossroads, unsure and unexperienced...yet open to life, still we believe and are willing to give our hearts for our dreams.

"Seize the day.
Make your lives extraordinary"

"Two roads diverged in the wood and I, I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." Rober Frost

“Sail Forth- Steer for the deep waters only. Reckless O soul, exploring. I with thee and thou with me. For we are bound where mariner has not yet dared go. And we will risk the ship, ourselves, and all.” Walt Whitman

However, I don't mean this as a challenge to enjoy life to its fullness despite all rules, get the most of it and prosper. For life is about sacrifice for each other and that way is full and beautiful to me. There is so much to enjoy that we often do not see. Some people live day by day, maybe never really stop to think what they are doing with their life until it has flown away. Worry about everyday trouble, avoiding risks and everything unusual. But there is much more. We are respondible for the little time we've been given. We can be different, change things, be not afraid of swimming against the current.
We can give our time for others, love and make our lives extraordinary.

By the way, I loved everything in the movie. My heart kept getting excited all the time. I wish to be a memeber of a secret sociely like that while I'm young, to play the bagpipes at the lake, ride the bike in snow, stand on desks in class, go to secret poetry sessions at night....:)

She hadn't realised that numbers went up that high...

Dear friends, I have grown up!
Just today, at least that is what numbers say...(and I don't really believe in numbers.) It happened so fast and unexpectedly...one wouldn't even notice.
Even though I tried, I couldn't stop it and on the way I learnt that trying to stop time is only a waste of time. I tried to come to terms with it. I believe that the way time flows is right, how things change, start and end. It is one the few things we people cannot influence. Although it's one of the hardest things for me to understand and sometimes makes me so confused.
I feel still the same although one might expect me to be suddenly different now that I've grown up....I suppose I will eventually come to the point where life will make me...but I guess there is something both nice and hard in everything so I will just try to seek the light of it.

Thinking about the past years, I am just out of words, so thankful for the people that have been part of my story even if just for a while, so much love, little joys and beautiful things and espescially the ocean of grace I've been blessed with.

Don't worry, this is not an end to this blog. Personaly, I will try to never actually grow up . At least, I hope there will always be a part of The Little Prince in me, that will never forget to see things simply and with the heart. To take time to smell the roses...

Once I was seventeen, just about yesterday, and will never be again. This band is called Youth Lagoon and the song is called 17 and it says:
"When I was seventeen,
 My mother said to me
"Don't stop imagining.
The day that you do
is the day that you die."

Ignite the sky

Picture from a year ago

I think it is becoming a tradition in my town that every year we are given loads of sky lanterns for free by the shopping mall in the centre and afterwards let them fly up all at once. I went see it with my friend last year for the first time and it was a remarkable experience. Tonight felt pretty much the same, like it was the same day as a year ago. It is somehow special how the whole town meets together on the crowded square so you can recognize faces all around you and all together, thousands of people freezing in the cold evening, count down and at last let them fly and illuminate the night sky. It looks peculiar and just magical. Tonight I got a kind of Harry Potter feeling.(It reminded me of the star-sky ceiling.)

Standing there in the middle of the crowd, staring at the sky just made me wonder how beautiful life is with all the precious moments it brings.

stop-motion, paper flash and zooey

I am the leader of a photography workshop at our dear Escape club. When I had ran out of ideas what to do for the next session, my friend reminded me of sweet familiar stop-motion! Even though there were just four of us, we had a lot of fun creating this video :)

Tack, Sverige!

I was lucky to spend a week in the beautiful town of Mora, Sweden and get to know a lot of interesting people that I hadn't even known existed. I had never thought much about Sweden. If I hadn't got this incredible opportunity to go I would never know how beautiful this country actually is. Now that I fortunately do know I feel if I had just lived on without this experience my view would be somehow incomplete or limited. Which makes me think how much more there must be for me yet to see and learn. I didn't expect anything except cold weather and pale blonde-haired people and I was surprised. There were times we would walk out only in a sweater.
Out of all nice things I will mention the cute traditional red wooden houses with white window frames which are everywhere as well as birch trees. Any direction we chose to take, we eventually got to the lake. We could actually see it from all of the windows of our cosy cabin(sharing with Mish and new swedish friends Amanda and Astrid). Once we went on a walk and met some little boys fishing, leaving their bikes about 200 metres away. I was just imagining how lovely and light it would be to just come home from school, get on a bike and go fishing with a friend :)

I learnt a lot of things either from the town of Mora, about myself or from seeing people's lives individualy, which I enjoyed and probably touched me most.
Another wonderful thing was that I completely forgot about everything, my mind had a rest from the reality. I think it was much needed time.
Nevertheless, it has flown by and now I have to return to my crazy world. However, I feel I can't just go on like before. I've seen and experienced so much, made new friends and got a little glance into their lives as well as shared mine and learnt something about me.
I feel like whatever little ever happens to us somehow changes something...and we are never the same.

              Having fun at the beach

At least, now I know more about Sweden than that there's cold
weather and pale blondes :)(which is not really true)

I figured I would share some swedish music....and the video is nice
